The Palomar Square Dance Association

Who are we?

The Palomar Square Dance Association (PSDA) is a non-profit, tax exempt organization of clubs who enjoy Modern Western Square Dancing.  The PSDA is located in North San Diego County, California.  At the present time, the PSDA consists of six Square Dance Clubs.  Our member clubs hold Plus Level dances in Poway, San Marcos, Solana Beach, Valley Center and Vista.  They also conduct new dancer classes in Encinitas, Escondido, Poway and Vista.  Our Advanced club, the Double SDs, holds dances and Advanced classes in Vista.  The PSDA holds class level dances on the Second Sunday of each month in Vista, and Plus Level dances on the Fifth Saturday when one occurs.  The schedules of dances and classes are available by clicking on the various links on this website, or by using our interactive calendar.  PSDA also sponsors the Jamboree By the Sea, a gala three day festival at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on the first full weekend in February each year.

The purpose of the PSDA, as defined in the Bylaws is:
to promote Square, Round and Clog Dancing as an activity for the personal contact, co-mingling, and fellowship of its members,
to encourage a high standard for Square, Round and Clog Dancing,
to encourage new dancers and new clubs,
to exchange information between individual dancers, callers, clubs and associations,
to promote special events which shall benefit its membership,
to assist the affiliates in whatever way possible, and
to represent Square, Round and Clog Dancing to the general public as a wholesome, enjoyable type of recreation.

PSDA also provides insurance for our dancers and liability insurance for our member club's dancing venues.

The PSDA is a member of the California Square Dance Council, Inc. and the United Square Dancers of America.  PSDA cooperates with the Back Country Square Dance Association and the San Diego Square Dance Association for the betterment of square dancing in San Diego County.
